Redneck Tale # 23 - This Redneck is Going "Viral"

"Hubpages to Google - Come In Please"
Like many who enjoy writing, I enjoy learning how "my stuff" is taken to by new readers who are not likely to tell me nice things just because they know me. In addition to that, I get a big charge out of learning where I stand with the world of the Internet and its search engines. Now and again I will hike on over with my fingertips on the keyboard and test out "Redneck Tale" on "Google."
That started as an experiment of sorts. Whenever a goofy subject for a story came in between my ears, I named it, "Redneck Tale # XX – Story Title." For example, this current story is "Redneck Tale # 23 – This Redneck is Going Viral." Why so?
Checking out the Google rankings of "Redneck Tale" today I found that they numbered 1 through 5 out of the first 10. Of course, that made me smile a little bit. I kept on going down the list, looking for more. I stopped looking when I came to number 8. It was also about one of my Redneck Tales. This was # 12, the story about the magical wacka-wacka snake in the Burma military theater during World War II. However, that number 8 ranking in Google was not written by me.
Spreading the Virus
Instead, the entry was a link to a forum about World War II itself, maybe populated by aging veterans of that big war. The entries pointed to by the link on Google were about Redneck Tale #12, the tale about that goofy snake that turned itself into a tiger.
In other words, the story had "gone viral" and had been enjoyed and back-linked by the forum members.
I tell this to you, not as bragging, but to emphasize for you the power of Hubpages to put the word out about your writing and mine. I do not know any of the forum members, but I know now that they know about Hubpages, and because of Hubpages, now they know about me.
Isn’t it good to have Hubpages on our side? Who could afford to pay for the PR we are getting just for having tons of fun writing stuff we like to write?
Anyway, here are three of the entries I copied from that forum and a link to it as well:
(Found on "WWII Forums" located at [http://][ww2f.com][wwii-general]/39970-burma-wacka-wacka-snake-story-redneck].[html])
Note: The automatic link that had been supplied here has been removed by the hub author at the request of HubPages' management when their "Google" inspection apparatus may have discovered something possibly wrong with that Web site. The author used the link, inspected the cited Web site personally, and found the link to be OK on his visit and as it had been about a year ago before the removal request had been issued. To use the link manually, remove all of the brackets and the trailing parenthesis mark.

That's a good one Ray, it reminded me of one I heard from a buddy from High School who had spent a tour in Nam, he was telling me that he missed Montana where all he had to worry about were the 'rattlers. He said he was informed that in country there were 90 different types of snake, 89 were poisonous in varying degrees of lethality, and one just ate ya whole.
Happy Trails,
Clint.

That's fantastic!
Hi, Gus. How nice to have confirmation that there is hope for the rest of us Hub people as well.
Happy for your viral success. Today, the WWII Forum. Tomorow, the world!
Go get 'em, redneck Tiger.
That's really cool...I never thought of it that way...HP a PR tool for us. See ya later.
Gus...:-D
..well Sir Gus I danced all over the keyboards like Liberace on this hub subject and pushed all of the buttons like the little hub monkey on meds that I am - and that said, no one STILL dosen't write quite like you - and probably never ever will - and thank god for that because you are truly truly one in a million - (that's two 'trulys' by the way - lol)
Write on Gus. Ha! Isn't it great, the different styles of writing that we get to see, just by turning on this little screen in front of our noggin's.
